Mingyeong (Ming) Kim, originally from South Korea, is an accomplished collaborative pianist and organist currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Collaborative Piano at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. A graduate of Ewha Womans University, she holds Master’s degrees in Piano Pedagogy and Vocal Coaching and Accompanying from UIUC.

Mingyeong’s dedication to sacred music spans over a decade, beginning as a chapel accompanist at Seoul Arts High School and serving major church choirs in South Korea. In the US, she served as the principal pianist at Korean churches in Elmhurst and Urbana, IL, and served as the university choir accompanist at Judson University in Elgin, IL, alongside performing outreach concerts across Chicago and Champaign-Urbana areas. Additionally, she has served as a Teaching Assistant in Korean language since 2021, driven by a passion for integrating music, language, and multigenerational community learning.

Outside of academia, she shares her hymn arrangements and vlogs on YouTube (stoneming piano). Her loving parents and a cat reside in South Korea.
